Çeşme’s wind called meltem blows throughout the summer. Normally it blows all year but gets stronger from May to September. Meltem is strong, stable and reliable wind and blows almost 3 weeks out of one month. But there is still possibility that there might be no wind. No worries, No wind is no problem in Çeşme. There are many other activities that you can do in these rare days. Here they are;
Wake Boarding
You can also find some hotels offering wakeboarding, water-skiing services around in Çeşme. It’s a good option to improve your kiteboard riding techniques.
Cable Park
There are two big cable parks in Turkey. One is in city of Bursa which is 4 hour drive away from Izmir. It’s a great park held the world championship in there for the past two years.
There is another one in city of Antalya which is 5 hour drive away from Izmir. That is a fantastic cable park. It has 3 different lakes for all levels, no more waiting in a line for rookies. And also Antalya is a fantastic city that everyone must see.
Just go to cable park and work on basic kiteboard skills, upwind riding and turning technique.
Aqua Parks
Aqua parks are just 80 km away from Izmir in Kusadasi. They are one of the best ten aqua parks of the world. One of them is also the largest and biggest aqua park of Europe. If you are looking for fun, excitement and adventure for your family, then go have ultimate fun in there.
Discovering the Roman Empire –EPHESUS
Ephesus is considered one of the great outdoor museums of Turkey, in fact perhaps of the world. It is located on the south of Izmir’s Selcuk county 2 hour drive away from Çeşme and right by the Aqua parks. The links of Ephesus with the Amazons and the myths had survived throughout history. It is the best preserved classical city of the Eastern Mediterranean, and among the best places in the world enabling one to genuinely ’soak in’ the atmosphere of Roman times.
Snorkeling
The Aegean sea is truely magnificent. The underwater world in Çeşme is one of the most elegant and untouched place. Go snorkeling and explore one of the most mysterious part of Earth.
Diving
Cesme, which has a very rich flora and fauna both on land and in the sea, offers great opportunities to those who are interested in scuba diving. Çeşme has some good diving and introductory dives and PADI and CMAS courses.For certified divers day trips can be organised throughout the year for basic and advanced levels.
Biking
Just rent a bike and go explore the beautiful secret beaches with caves and a lot more.
Go karting
Wanna bet! You can have a lot more fun with your friends.
Boat trips – There are many boat trips in the summer season most of which visit three different islands. You can also visit Greek Islands too.
Sailing
There are some local sailing clubs for rentals and tuition.
Therman Water- Turkish/ Bath ( Hammam )
A trip to Turkey would be incomplete without a stopover at these hot springs. Make your way just 5 km from the heart of town to the hot springs at Cesme, if not to treat a health -problem then to simply luxuriate in the comforting waters of natural mineral baths.
The thermal waters of Cesme has saline thermal characteristics which has a very strong therapeutic effect on rheumatism, arthritis and muscle diseases that cause sever pain. The therapeutic effects have been proven in the scientific research held jointly by the Hydroclimatology Department of the Istanbul University and the medical Ecology departments of various scientific institutes in the USA.
Night Life
Çeşme is one of best summer holiday place in Turkey and very crowded in summer. Bars and nightclubs are open until 5am.
Shopping
Shopping in Cesme is truly a pleasure. There are many shops that offer the wonderful Turkish carpets and Kilims that fascinate the tourists with there unique designs and patterns. Also the souvenir shops where thousands of items that reflect the authentic elements of the local culture of Cesme. Local bazaars are held in Alacati on Saturdays and Cesme town centre on Sundays.
